Paige Taggart founded Mactaggart Jewelry in 2003, but she's been passionate about jewelry her whole life — playing with beads in her hometown of Healdsburg, California.  Since then, her craft has evolved into a sophisticated art of counterbalance — juxtaposing stones of raw quality and refined edges with smoother elements. She also loves using vintage parts and pieces, which she reassembles and hammers to create texture and romance. She studied Jewelry Metalsmith at California College of the Arts in Oakland, Ca. and graduated with a BA in Visual Studies from CCA. She then followed her passion for language to the New School, where she earned an MFA in Creative Writing; her love for poetry is reflected in her jewelry concepts and names. From 2006 onwards, she has lived in Brooklyn, worked for various jewelers while honing her own design and craft and launching this site full-time in 2015.
